What actually happens on your device

  • EraseMint is a private watermark remover: your image is decoded and repaired inside your browser whenever the device supports it. The picture itself is not uploaded.
  • No account is created, no image is stored, and no history of your edits is kept.
  • The AI model file is downloaded to your browser (and cached there) the first time you use the tool.
  • Only anonymous usage events — such as which step succeeded or failed — are recorded, and they are sent to Google Analytics. Image content, masks and filenames are never collected.
  • If you submit the feedback form, your message is sent to our own receiving service (api.erasemint.com) together with the optional contact details, the page address and your IP. Nothing is sent unless you submit the form, and images, masks or filenames are never sent.

What this tool cannot do

  • It cannot restore pixels that were permanently destroyed when the watermark was added.
  • Large watermarks covering faces, buildings or complex textures may leave visible traces.
  • Semi-transparent watermarks with shadows, and watermarks covering existing text, are the hardest cases.
  • Very large images may need to be scaled down, and very old devices may not be able to run the model at all.

Please use it responsibly

Only edit images you own or have permission to edit. Removing a visible watermark does not grant you the copyright or any licence to use the picture.

Privacy policy details

  • This site sets cookies only for Google Analytics, which we use to count visits and see which steps of the tool fail. It is the only third-party script we load, and the tool works exactly the same if you block it.
  • The AI model file is downloaded from our own asset host (assets.erasemint.com) and stored by your browser in Cache Storage under the name erasemint-models-v1, so later visits can skip the download.
  • To delete the stored model, clear cached data for this site in your browser settings, or open DevTools → Application → Cache Storage and delete the erasemint-models-v1 entry. The next repair downloads the file again.
